course

The Effelsberger Bach rises in the Münstereifel forest about one kilometer northwest of the Münstereifel district of Scheuerheck at 450.6  m above sea level. NHN . The source is on the eastern slope of the Knippberg ( 537.3  m above sea  level ). It cannot be precisely localized because the upper course of the stream often falls dry. The brook initially flows in an easterly direction, takes the Hepperich north of Scheuerheck from the right before it crosses under the state road 113 between Scheuerheck and Wald . It changes its course to the southeast and takes on the Trinkpützsiefen from the left and the Scheuerhecker Bach from the right . West of the Hühnerberg (approx. 393  m above sea  level ) it flows in a southerly direction and follows the border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate for about 1.5 km. He passes the Effelsberg radio telescope and takes in the Rötzelbach from the right . It then swings again in an easterly direction and flows north of the Kirchsahrer district Binzenbach at 259  m above sea level. NHN into the Sahrbach Ahr tributary coming from the north .

The catchment area of the Effelsberger Bach is 8.87 km² and drains into the North Sea via Sahrbach, Ahr and Rhine.
