The 1990/91 season of the Austrian national ice hockey league was played with seven clubs. The defending champion and new champion was EK Zell am See .

Participating teams

Compared to the previous year there were quite big changes in the field of participants. EHC Lustenau and SV Kapfenberg were added from the Bundesliga . The EHC Linz entered the championship as a new team, the ATSV Steyr left the league in return. ATSE Graz and UEC Graz merged to form EC Graz . He now played with the first set in the top league , and with a farm team also provided a team in the national league.
