The 2003/04 season of the Austrian national ice hockey league was played with eight teams. The defending champion was EK Zell am See , which was unable to defend the championship. The new title winner was EC Red Bull Salzburg , who decided to move up to the Bundesliga and were to compete in the second division with a farm team .
