The 1993/94 season of the Austrian national ice hockey league was played with ten teams. The defending champion was EC Ehrwald , who was eliminated in the quarter-finals this season. The new champions were EV Innsbruck , which however disbanded after this season.

Participant and mode

Compared to the previous year , the field of participants was increased from eight to ten participants. The EV Innsbruck and EK Zell am See dismounted from the Bundesliga. The EV Zeltweg from the Regionalliga was also added. A simple round-trip round was played, followed by playoffs with quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, each of which was played in best-of-three mode.

With a 2-0 win in the final series, EV Innsbruck secured its first and last championship title in the second division, after the team had won the Austrian championship six times in the previous decades . After the season the EV Innsbruck was dissolved. Only a few years later, a successor was founded with HC Innsbruck .
