Ekaterini Koffa

Ekaterini Koffa ( Greek Αικατερίνη Κόφφα , born April 10, 1969 in Karditsa ) is a former Greek sprinter . Their special route was the 200 meters .

Athletic career

She is 1.77 m tall and weighed 63 kg during her active time.

She celebrated her greatest success at the 1997 World Indoor Championships in Paris , where she beat the Jamaican Juliet Cuthbert by a hundredth and won the gold medal in the national record time of 22.76 s.

At the Open Air World Championships , which took place in Athens that same year , she ran with 22.70 s season best, but could not qualify for the finals.

A year later she was successful again at the European Indoor Championships in Valencia in 1998 and won the bronze medal in 22.86 seconds behind Swetlana Gontscharenko from Russia (gold in 22.46 seconds) and the German Melanie Paschke (silver in 22.50 seconds) .

Ekaterini Koffa competed in three Olympic Games - 1988 in Seoul , 1996 in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney , but could not reach a final either as a single runner or as a member of the Greek 4 x 100 meter relay .

Her personal bests, both of which she achieved in 1996, are 11.12 seconds over 100 meters and 22.67 seconds over 200 meters.

Her husband Angelos Pavlakakis was also active as a sprinter.
