Jeanine Marie Mason (born January 14, 1991 in Miami , Florida ) is an American actress and dancer . In the US, it was mainly through their victory in the fifth season of the dance - talent show So You Think You Can Dance radio station FOX known.

life and career

Jeanine Mason comes from Miami, Florida and is the daughter of a dance-loving family. She grew up with her parents, both of Cuban descent, in Pinecrest , an affluent place in the greater Miami area. From the age of three, Mason took dance lessons and practiced ballet and flamenco , for example , before turning to jazz , hip-hop , acrobatics , and modern and contemporary dance. In addition to her dance training, she has been on the theater stage since she was eleven, initially in school productions.

Mason later moved to Los Angeles , where she focused on acting alongside her dance and stage training at the Michael Woolson Studio . In spring 2014, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in World Arts and Culture at UCLA with the distinction cum laude .

At the age of 18, she took part in the fifth season of the dance talent show So You Think You Can Dance . Mason received consistent praise for her strong and versatile performance. Her victory, as the show's youngest ever winner, made her known in the USA. Afterwards she went on tour with the top 12 dancers of the show in autumn 2009. She continues to perform regularly as a dancer on various stages in the States.

In addition to her dance career, Mason has also been an actress since 2010. Shortly after her victory, she was seen in an episode of the Big Time Rush series. This was followed by appearances in The Fresh Beat Band , CSI: Vegas and Hollywood Heights . In 2013 she appeared for the first time in a series as Cozette in New in Paradise . Since then, other guest appearances have followed, including in The Secret Life of the American Teenager , Major Crimes , Awkward - Mein so so called Leben , Navy CIS: LA , Criminal Minds and Grey's Anatomy . In 2016 she starred as Merav in the series Of Kings and Prophets .

From 2017 to 2018 she took on Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Sam Bello played a supporting role. Since 2019 she can be seen in one of the leading roles in the series Roswell, New Mexico .
