The Elbmarschenhaus is a service and communication center in the municipality of Haseldorf in the Pinneberg district in the south of Schleswig-Holstein and an important point of contact for tourists in the municipality.

General

The Elbmarschenhaus is the Lower Elbe Integrated Station in Schleswig-Holstein. The house forms a service and communication center for the Haseldorfer Marsch region and the surrounding area and is one of the attractions of the Haseldorf community. The house is in the center of the village.

The carrier of the house is the Integrated Station Lower Elbe (ISU) in the form of the ISU- Zweckverband . This consists of the 14 cities and communities of Appen , Groß Nordende , Haselau , Haseldorf, Heidgraben , Heist , Hetlingen , Klein Nordende , Seestermühe and Tornesch . Further members are the Abwasser Zweckverband Südholstein, the Wedel Marketing Association, representing the City of Wedel , the Pinneberg district and the State of Schleswig-Holstein.

The state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Naturschutzbund Deutschland e. V., the tourism associations Tourism in Marsch and Geest e. V. as well as Holstein Tourism and the local hunting community (Pinneberg district hunters' association). Regional artists present their work in the premises at regular intervals.

The house is supported by the Verein Integrierte Station Unterelbe e. V., who is responsible for environmental education as well as the care and maintenance of the exhibitions and the outdoor area.

The Elbmarschenhaus is located in the former inspector's house of Gut Haseldorf. From 2003 to 2006 the building was modernized and rebuilt. In 2006 the Elbmarschenhaus was opened. At the same time, the NABU Protected Area Management for the Haseldorfer Inner Elbe nature reserve with Elbe foreland moved into the building. The Elbmarschenhaus functions as an integrated station in the Lower Elbe and forms a branch in Schleswig-Holstein for the State Office for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas ( LLUR ). The facility has been managed by Edelgard Heim since 2014. Before that, Bernd-Ulrich Netz had headed the house since it was founded. The permanent exhibition in the Elbmarschenhaus has also been available virtually on the Internet since June 2020.

The Lower Elbe Integrated Station is one of many stations in Schleswig-Holstein that the state has set up in particularly significant natural areas. The integrated stations are branch offices of the State Office for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas (LLUR). The facilities are intended to link nature conservation, agriculture , tourism , water management , scientific research and public relations work and be local contact points for these subject areas. The aim is to implement nature conservation goals.

Permanent exhibition

In the multimedia permanent exhibition in the Elbmarschenhaus, the natural and cultural space of the Elbmarschen is to be explained. Topics such as the formation of the landscape , the tides , the flora and fauna of the Elbe marshes, the settlement of the marshes , agriculture and products such as apples and vegetables as well as the historical uses of the marsh such as ribbon willows and rushes are dealt with.

Outdoor area

In the outdoor area of ​​the Elbmarschenhaus there is a nature experience space . There, visitors can get to know the flora and fauna of the march. Display boards and old tools such as a bucket also provide information about life and nature in the Elbmarsch.

NABU protected area management

Since the opening in 2006, the Elbmarschenhaus has also housed the NABU protection area management for the Haseldorfer Inner Elbe nature reserve with Elbe foreland. From there, the NABU members take on nature conservation tasks, such as bird counts or the maintenance of an orchard with old fruit varieties, as well as information about the local flora and fauna.

District Hunters

In a room in the Elbmarschenhaus, the Pinneberg District Hunters' Association provides information about their work and the local fauna.
