Elian Wesselinow Dimitrov ( Bulgarian Елиан Веселинов Димитров ; * 2. June 1991 in Bourgas ) is a Bulgarian boxer in the lightweight .

Career

Elian Dimitrov was a participant in the 2006 Cadet European Championships in Tirana and the European Youth Championships in Szczecin in 2009 , and in the 2010/11 regular season he also played two fights for the Memphis Force team in the World Series of Boxing . In 2012 he lost to Wasgen Safarjanz in the European Olympic qualification in Trabzon .

In 2013 and 2014 he became Bulgarian champion, took part in the 2013 World Championships in Almaty (loss to Luis Arcón ) and the 2014 EU Championships in Sofia (loss to Otar Eranossian ).

In 2015, after losing to Albert Selimov in the quarterfinals, he finished fifth at the European Games in Baku , and after losing to Otar Eranossian in the semi-finals, he came third at the European Championships in Samokow . In the second fight of the EM, he defeated Bashir Hassan . With this success he was able to participate in the 2015 World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated by Sofiane Oumiha .

At the 2016 Olympic qualification tournaments in Samsun and Baku, he failed early against Volkan Gökçek and Michael Alexander. At the 2017 European Championships in Kharkiv, he lost 3-2 in the first fight against Karen Tonakanyan.
