Elise Ringen (born November 21, 1989 ) is a former Norwegian biathlete . The biathlete Ada Ringen is her twin sister.

Career

Elise Ringen competed in international competitions from 2007. Their first major event was the Junior World Championship of the year in Martell . There she was ninth in the individual, seventh in the sprint and, as fourth in the pursuit, narrowly missed a first international medal. For the 2007/08 season, the young Norwegian made her debut in Geilo in the Junior European Cup and immediately won her first race with a sprint. The Junior World Championship in Ruhpolding in 2008 brought great success . Wrestling won silver in the sprint and with the team and bronze in the pursuit behind Maren Hammerschmidt . As fourth in the individual she just barely missed a fourth medal. At the European Youth Championships a few weeks later in Nové Město she won the individual and started in the remaining competitions at the same time at the Senior European Championships. She reached 20th place in the sprint, from which she improved to 15th place in the pursuit. In the final season she won the bronze medal behind the Ukraine and Germany with Liv-Kjersti Eikeland , Kjersti Isaksen and Eline Fannemel .

In the season 11/12 , wrestling was allowed to contest its first continuous season in the World Cup. There she confirmed her commitment with a 12th place in the pursuit of Östersund and a tenth place in the sprint of Hochfilzen by staying clear. After the turn of the year, she rarely reached the top 20, but remained in the points. With a hit rate of 89% in prone shooting, she is a sure shooter, the standing attack is significantly weaker in comparison with 62%. She was regularly used in the Norwegian relay and reached with this first place in Hochfilzen, second place in Oberhof and with fourth place in Antholz just missed the medal ranks. Her bad quota in standing shooting made itself felt at the Biathlon World Championships 2012 in Ruhpolding . In the sprint, two mistakes in standing prevented her from achieving a better result than 14th. In the last shooting, she only hit a single target in the individual, and finished the race with 71st place. She also left 6 targets at the mass start. Together with Fanny Welle-Strand Horn , Synnøve Solemdal and Tora Berger , however, she reached third place in the relay competition.

After a 32nd place in the sprint and a 44th place in the subsequent pursuit in the first races of the 2012/2013 season in Östersund , Sweden , she started again in the IBU Cup at the beginning of 2013, where she continued to achieve good placings, mainly because of her poor odds were denied standing. For the 2014/15 season she was appointed to the Norwegian women's elite team. Her last race in the World Cup was in the 2014/15 season in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia . After the IBU Cups in Nové Město na Moravě and on the Arber in the winter of 2015/16 , Elise Ringen ended her career.
