Elizabeth Lyon Beisel (born August 18, 1992 in Saunderstown ) is an American back and position swimmer .

Life

Elizabeth Beisel lives in North Kingstown , starts for the Bluefish Swim Club and is trained by Chuck Batchelor. She swam her first missions for the USA national team in 2006 as part of the Pan Pacific Championships in Victoria . She finished fifth over the 200 m back. At the World Cup a year later in Melbourne , she was eliminated in the semifinals over the same route. At the US Trials 2008 to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics , Beisel was sixth over 100 m backseat, second behind Margaret Hoelzer over 200 m backs and second behind Katie Hoff over 400 m medley. At the Games in Beijing, she reached the finals at both of her starts. Over 200 m back she was fifth in the final, over 400 m individual medals she missed a medal in fourth. In Shanghai she won the title over the 400 m medley on the final day of the 2011 World Championships.
