Since the 12th century, life in the community was closely linked to the noble lords of Brempt , the lords of Elmpt and their successors. The coat of arms of the community of Niederkrüchten, with the half-red lily, whose sepal is decorated with a green parrot pointing towards the calyx, reminds of the landlords of Elmpt. The three blue bars on a silver background indicate the emblem of the noble lords of Brempt, who exercised landlord rights in Niederkrüchten in the 13th century.
