history

In 1765 the owner of the Silesian lordship of Odrau , Johann Karl Lichnowsky von Woschütz , intended to set up a pub and colony on the road from Odrau to Mährisch Weißkirchen . However, the project was initially suspended due to protests from some Odrau citizens. The village was finally founded on January 12, 1786, the name of the colony was chosen by Lichnowsky's wife, Carolina, b. Countess of Althann , from. In the middle of 1787 Emaus already consisted of 20 houses. The new colony was assigned to the local community Klein Petersdorf ( Horní Vražné ), it was parish to Groß Petersdorf ( Dolní Vražné ) in Moravia . In 1805 the inhabitants of the colony built a chapel. In 1843 the town of Odrau expanded the road to Emaus to the standard width of four fathoms . In the 19th century Emaus grew to 22 houses, one of which stood across the Silesian-Moravian border on Moravian territory.

After the abolition of patrimonial Emaus formed from 1850 a district of the community Heinzendorf in the judicial district Odrau . In 1852 150 people lived in Emaus . A little later Emaus was reassigned to Klein Petersdorf. From 1868 the place belonged to the Troppau district. In 1873 the village had 114 inhabitants, almost all of whom belonged to the German-speaking ethnic group. After the Munich Agreement , Emaus was added to the German Reich in 1938 and initially belonged to the Troppau district . In 1939 the village was assigned to the Neu Titschein district. In 1943 the communities Groß Petersdorf, Heinzendorf and Klein Petersdorf (with Emaus) merged to form one community Heinzendorf. After the end of the Second World War, Emaus came back to Czechoslovakia ; the community association was canceled again. The German-speaking population was largely expelled between 1945 and 1946. In 1953 the municipalities of Hynčice, Dolní Vražné and Horní Vražné (with Emauzy) were merged to form the municipality of Vražné. Between 1979 and 1994 the village was incorporated into Odry .
