Emil Philipp Friedrich von Ruits

Emil Philipp Friedrich von Ruits (* 1727 in Prussia ; † June 1, 1800 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , commander of Glogau and knight of the Pour le Mérite .

Life

origin

His parents were Friedrich Jakob von Ruits (Rüts) (1683–1746) and his wife, Maria Elisabeth von Pellet (1706–1786). from the house of Glaubitten. His brother was the later lieutenant general Friedrich Leopold von Ruits (1736-1811). His father was Herr auf Bersnicken as well as a royal Prussian colonel and commander of the XI garrison regiment .

Military career

In 1746 he became a cadet and four years later a page with Margrave Heinrich . In 1753 he was transferred to the regiment "Margrave Heinrich" No. 12 and there in 1755 ensign and 1757 secondary lieutenant . During the Seven Years' War he was General Rebentisch's adjutant . Ruits and his corps went into captivity near Maxen in 1759 , but, unlike his general, was soon replaced.

In 1761 he was in the entourage of King Friedrich II. In 1762 he appointed him lieutenant quartermaster with captain character. In 1763 he received his own company in the Füselierregiment "Keller" No. 37 . On February 4, 1773 he became a major and in 1777 a lieutenant colonel . During the War of the Bavarian Succession he received the order Pour le Merite for the battle near Schetzlar, in which he was wounded.

In August 1780 he was transferred to Glogau as a commandant because a fracture healed poorly. On September 11, 1780, he became a colonel and in August 1788, he was appointed major general. In 1795 he was retired in Glogau.

family

Ruits was married to one von Liebermann († November 7, 1787), who was the daughter of the lieutenant colonel and commander of the "Wolframsdorf" regiment No. 9 .
