Emmerichwalde was founded around 1908 as a Vorwerk by Groß Krauscha. The name goes back to a nearby forest, which has been known to have been so named since 1511. At that time the settlement was part of the district of Görlitz in the district Liegnitz the Prussian province of Silesia . Ecclesiastically, the place as part of Groß Krauscha has always been part of the Zodel parish. In 1919 the province of Silesia was divided and Emmerichswalde was added to the province of Lower Silesia . In 1938 the provinces of Lower Silesia and Upper Silesia were reunited, which was reversed after three years. After the end of the Second World War, Emmerichswalde came to the Soviet occupation zone as part of the Groß Krauscha community .

From January 16, 1947, Emmerichswalde was in the district of Weißwasser-Görlitz , which was renamed the district of Niesky a year later . During the GDR district reform on July 25, 1952, the community Groß Krauscha with Emmerichswalde was assigned to the Görlitz-Land district in the Dresden district . After reunification , the homestead belonged to the district of Görlitz in Saxony, which was incorporated into the newly formed Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia district in 1994 . On July 1, 1995, Groß Krauscha merged with Kaltwasser and Zodel to form the new municipality of Neißeaue , while Emmerichswalde became an independent district of Neißeaue, but it was not given its own municipal area.
