About this picture

The administrative association Weißer Schöps / Neisse is a Saxon administrative association in the district of Görlitz with its seat in Kodersdorf .

location

The association is located in the eastern part of the district, about 15 km northwest of the district town of Görlitz and 10 km south of Niesky . The communities in the valley of the Weißen Schöps are surrounded by the wooded area west of the Lusatian Neisse and the Königshain mountains . The national highway 115 and the Federal Highway 4 lead by the association area, where the highway with the 3.3 kilometer tunnel Königshainer mountain passes under the Königshainer mountains. Germany’s easternmost state office is located in a bend in the Neisse river in the municipality of Neißeaue.

history

In 1996 the five municipalities of Deschka, Horka, Kodersdorf, Neißeaue and Schöpstal merged to take care of their administrative matters to form the administrative association Weißer Schöps / Neisse. The community Deschka with the district Zentendorf was incorporated into Neißeaue on January 1, 1999, which reduced the number of member communities to four.
