English Rugby Union Championship 1995/96

The 1995/1996 season of the English Premiership was the ninth season of the major league of the English Rugby Union Championship. For sponsorship reasons it was named Courage League . It comprised 18 game days with a preliminary and a second round. Bristol Rugby won the championship for the sixth time . At the end of the season there were no relegated teams due to the upcoming expansion of the league by two teams.

    The season of the second division ( National Division One ) consisted of 18 game days with one preliminary and one second round. The top two teams, the Northampton Saints and London Irish , rose to the Premiership. Due to the upcoming expansion of the league by two teams, there were no relegated teams this year.
