English rugby union championship 1998/99
The 1998/1999 season of the English Premiership was the twelfth season of the major division of the English Rugby Union Championship. For sponsorship reasons it was named Allied Dunbar Premiership . It began on September 5, 1998, consisted of 26 game days (each a preliminary and second round) and lasted until May 20, 1999. The championship title was won for the third time by the Leicester Tigers . At the end of the season, the West Hartlepool RFC was relegated . The Richmond FC and the London Scottish FC sign had bankrupt, merged with London Irish and took no more in the next season of the game operation part.

The season of the second division ( National Division One ) consisted of 26 game days (one first and one second round). The best-placed team Bristol Rugby rose to the Premiership, while the runner-up Rotherham RUFC lost a play-off against the Bedford Blues (13th in the Premiership). The Blackheath RC and the Fylde RC had to dismount.
