English Rugby Union Championship 2009/10
The 2009-10 season of the English Premiership was the 23rd season of the major division of the English Rugby Union Championship. For sponsorship reasons it was called the Guinness Premiership . It began on September 4, 2009, comprised 22 game days (one preliminary and second round) and lasted until May 8, 2010. The four best-placed teams then qualified for the semi-finals, the semi-final winners met on May 29, 2010 in the final Twickenham Stadium on top of each other. The champions were the Leicester Tigers for the ninth time and were able to defend their title from the previous year. The Worcester Warriors had to relegate.

The season of the second division (since this season RFU Championship , previously National Division One) lasted from September 4, 2009 to February 20, 2009 and consisted of 22 game days (one first and one second round). The best eight teams met again in two groups and played in play-offs for a place in the first division. The four remaining teams played among themselves a relegated third division.
