Enrico Intra

Enrico Intra (born July 3, 1935 in Milan ) is an Italian jazz pianist , composer and orchestra leader.

Live and act

Intra had a private music education and led her own groups in the 1950s. In 1960 he took part in the competition La coppa del Jazz of Rai Radio 2 part. In the 1960s he founded the Milan nightclub Intra's Derby Club . He worked with Pupo De Luca , Iva Zanicchi , Severino Gazzelloni , Claudio Cusmano , Bruno De Filippi , Marco Ratti , Victor Bacchetta , Pino Presti , Tullio De Piscopo , Gianni Bedori , Giancarlo Barigozzi and Sergio Farina . He also played with Chet Baker , Lee Konitz and Milt Jackson . Since the mid-1960s he has led the orchestra at the Sanremo Festival several times . Since the mid-1970s he has presented his own jazz albums.

In 1971 he composed a mass. As a songwriter he wrote with Vito Pallavicini No amore , who became known in the interpretations of Giusy Romeo and Sacha Distel (as part of the Sanremo Festival 1968 ). He also arranged for Francesco Guccini ( Un altro giorno è andato / Il bello , 1968) and composed for the film.

He has been working as a duo with Franco Cerri since 1980; with him he also founded Musica Oggi as a society for the promotion of jazz and organized the jazz courses Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano . In 1987 he founded the Civica Orchestra Jazz di Milano , which he still leads today , with which he presented a program dedicated to Duke Ellington in 2007 . He also worked with Markus Stockhausen , Roberto Fabbriciani , Mauro Negri , Franco D'Andrea and Marco Vaggi .
