Duck good! Girls at home is a German children's film from 2016 . Directed by Norbert Lechner . The film is the winning film of the “ The Special Children's Film ” initiative and was shown in the “Generation Kplus” competition at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival .

Eleven-year-old Linh and her little sister Tien are suddenly left to their own devices when their mother has to go to Vietnam to take care of their sick grandma. But nobody is allowed to find out - especially not the youth welfare office . Linh is not only responsible for Tien now, but also has to take care of the housekeeping and the Vietnamese snack for her mother in addition to the school. But the self-proclaimed spy Pauline from the apartment block across the street discovers the secret and threatens to betray the two girls. A friendship soon grew out of the initial blackmail , but it was repeatedly put to the test. Because the police and Mrs. Trost from the youth welfare office are close to discovering the secret.

The comedy was produced by KEVIN LEE Film GmbH in coproduction with MDR , BR and KiKA . The shooting took place from June 29 to September 4, 2015 in Halle / Saale , Berlin and Leipzig . The cinema production was funded by the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung , the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern , the Filmförderungsanstalt , the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media and the German Film Funding Fund. Duck good! Girls at home alone is a winning film from the “Special Children's Film” initiative.

The review of the film duck good! Girls at home were mostly positive, but there were also some mixed voices. TV Movie wrote about duck well! Girl alone at home : "Norbert Lechner ('Tom and Hacke') made a conflict-ridden, sympathetic, coherent children's film." Alois Knoller from the Augsburger Allgemeine said: "Laughter and shivering are close together in these exciting one and a half hours of cinema."
