Entiklar is a fraction of the municipality of Kurtatsch in South Tyrol . The village with about 150 inhabitants is located in the Unterland on the South Tyrolean Wine Road , about 1.5 kilometers south of the main town of Kurtatsch and one kilometer north of Margreid . Entiklar is surrounded by vineyards around 50 meters above the valley floor of the Adige Valley .
Worth seeing
In the center of the village is the Marienkapelle, a protected cultural asset from the 17th century: the simple building with turrets has a flat groin vault over pilasters inside , the late baroque altar with a protective cloak Madonna is accompanied by sculptures of St. Joachim and Anna flanked; On the south side of the chapel is a sacristy also vaulted with groin vaults . The townscape, however, is mainly shaped by the Turmhof property , which is also a listed building and which today houses a winery. The residential tower from the 13th century is particularly worth seeing , the other parts of the building are more recent.
history
The location is first mentioned as Linticlare in the so-called Vigilius Letter , a global document edited in the 11th century from older templates .
The remains of the Entiklar castle ruins lie on a prominent moraine crest that rises behind the tower courtyard to a height of up to 358 meters . The complex of the Tyrolean sovereigns , built between 1259 and 1275, served as the court seat for some time . Finds of stone, bronze and iron objects in the area of the castle ruins show that the place has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Only sparse masonry has survived from the castle. Already in the year 1279 an Entiklarer Meierhof with its owner villicus Conzius de Entclar (Meier Kunz von Entiklar) is documented.
