In his 34 years of activity as an archaeologist, Erhard Cosack led numerous excavations . Be highlighted investigations of the cemetery cheek Lister field in Hameln , the multi-year excavation of a settlement from the 3rd-5th Century in Bavenstedt and excavations on the Kronsberg in Hanover before the beginning of the Expo 2000 . He reported in numerous publications about his excavations and research, which encompass the entire spectrum of archeology. His main focus was research on Saxony. The crowning glory of his professional career were the excavations of the old Saxon burial ground on the “Heidenkirchhof” in Sarstedt , where richly furnished graves of cavalry warriors with horses from the 8th century were found.
