Erhard Dietl

Erhard Dietl (born May 22, 1953 in Regensburg ) is a German author , graphic artist , songwriter and children's book illustrator.

Life

Dietl studied from 1971 at the "Academy for the graphic trade" and at the " Academy of Fine Arts Munich ". He was already drawing for magazines during his studies. Dietl's contributions included Zeit-Magazin , Stern and Cosmopolitan , but also children's magazines such as Play and Learn , Sesame Street and Yps .

Since 1983 he has been illustrating children's books, for example the stories of Franz by Christine Nöstlinger , works by Kirsten Boie or Joachim Ringelnatz ( Der Nasenkönig ) and Erich Kästner ( Ironic Verse ). In 1990 his book Die Olchis sind da appeared , from which the children's book series Die Olchis became. A total of over 100 children's books by or with the assistance of Erhard Dietl have been published. Dietl's books have been translated into numerous languages, including Spain, France, Belgium, Japan, Korea, and China.

Dietl also worked for the children's programs on ARD and ZDF . Picture stories were The brave Theo , The brand new pompadonium , When I grow up , Papa, get up! and Christmas as strong as a bear .

He has written two children's musicals ( The Olchis clean up , The brave Theo ) and as a songwriter has released several CDs for adults.
