Erich Limmert

Erich Limmert (born February 27, 1909 in Erlangen , † March 23, 1988 in Hanover ) was a German music critic and violinist , conductor and composer .

Life

Born at the time of the German Empire in Erlangen, played Erich Limmert already as a student violin and viola d'amore in an Ensemble for Early Music . After graduating from high school during the Weimar Republic in 1928, he deepened his musical training in Nuremberg at the local conservatory and then studied musicology at the University of Erlangen .
