Erich Mirek

Erich Mirek (born November 15, 1912 in Naßlettl , West Prussia , † September 12, 2004 in Berlin ) was a German actor .

As early as the 1930s, Mirek was part of the workers' revue Das Rote Sprachrohr by Maxim Vallentin . After the transfer of power to the National Socialists , he was briefly imprisoned in 1934 and then worked as a car mechanic.

He completed his acting training in 1949 at the German Theater Institute - Belvedere Palace in Weimar. Theater engagements led Mirek von Weimar to the Maxim-Gorki-Theater , to whose ensemble he belonged until the 1980s.

In addition, Mirek has been active in film and television since 1953 and embodied the parade socialist Wilhelm Pieck in the film Solange Leben in mir ist in 1965 .
