Erich Post

Erich Post (born December 23, 1900 in Rudstannen , Gumbinnen district , † probably April 5, 1945 ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

The son of a farmer worked as a farm laborer after attending school. From 1919 to 1929 Post worked in different professions, including as an apprentice in the office of the East Farmers' Union in Insterburg , then as a clerk and traveling merchant in Insterburg, Hanover , Darmstadt and Leipzig . After 1929 he was partly unemployed, partly he worked in an installation office in Insterburg.

From 1920 to 1922, Post was a member of the Deutschvölkischer Schutz- und Trutzbund . In January 1931 he joined the NSDAP, for which he was active as a party speaker and deputy district leader of Pillkallen and Stallupönen .

After the seizure of power by the National Socialists post was 1933 member of the County Council for East Prussia . In the party he took on functions as district leader for Fischhausen and Königsberg-Land (June 1933), as deputy district training director (October 1933) and as district inspector for the district of Königsberg (February 1934). Between January 1935 and August 1941 he was district administrator in the Marienburg district . From January 1939, Post headed the Gauamt of the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV) in East Prussia as the successor to Erich Fuchs . After the German attack on Poland , Post, as head of a task force, organized NSV work in several Polish cities. In 1940 he was appointed Prussian Provincial Councilor and Councilor of the city of Königsberg . On March 12, 1941, Post entered the National Socialist Reichstag as a member of constituency 1 (East Prussia) in the replacement procedure for the late MP Ernst Penner .

In the final phase of the Second World War , Post belonged to the Volkssturm . According to witnesses, he died in April 1945 when he was on a business trip to Königsberg from a direct artillery hit. Post was pronounced dead on June 28, 1950 .
