Erik Markus Schuetz (born January 25, 1973 in Bavaria ) is a German actor, director , stuntman , stunt-action coordinator and martial artist.

He is known for his roles as "Gary" in The Sanctuary , "Schmidt" in Kill 'Em All and "Pearl Harbor" in Ong-Bak . He also played in Jackie Chan's The Medallion , Steven Seagal's Belly of the Beast , The 5th Commandment - You Shall Not Kill , Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, among others .

Life

Schuetz learned to ski and ride a motorcycle at a young age . Inspired by Bruce Lee , he trained in gymnastics and karate at the age of eleven . At the age of 16 he started weight training and boxing ; at the age of 18 he worked as a doorman . He later discovered the martial art Muay Thai and fought as a professional in Thailand , Spain and the United States .

His passion for filmmaking was sparked by a Super 8 handheld camera in his teens . He filmed action scenes with friends in the garden and directed short films in Germany. Erik got his first acting experience at the age of 13 when he took on a role in the opera " The Barber of Seville ". Erik gained his experience in the film business working with Oliver Stone , Jackie Chan , Ching Siu-Tung , Gordon Liu , Samuel L. Jackson and Ray Stevenson . He worked as a line producer for the US action film Blood Ties , which won the “Best Action Film of the Year” award at the 2008 Action On Film Festival in Los Angeles. Schuetz was part of film successes such as Ong-Bak (2003), The Protector (2005) and Beautiful Boxer (2004). Leading roles in international action films such as The Sanctuary (2009) with Russell Wong and Kill 'Em All (2012) with Gordon Liu followed. In addition, he has appeared in over 100 TV commercials and various TV series in Thailand, e.g. B. Koo Kam and Narok tua Soodthay . As a stunt coordinator and stunt driver, he was on tour with Bodyslam .

In September 2012 he directed his first short film REACTIONS with Hollywood actor Johnny Messner in the lead role for the first time. The film won the Special Honors Award at the 3rd International Film And Game Festival in Munich. In the meantime, he made several movie trailers and kung fu - Parody Dön Fu . Schuetz last shot the short films The Third Me and TEMPS in 2013 .

In 2014 he starred in Jalmari Helander's film Big Game - The Hunt Begins (2014) alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Ray Stevenson .
