Erik Wudtke (born July 17, 1972 in Aachen ) is a German handball trainer and a former handball player.

Wudtke initially played in the German regional league at TV Weiden before joining the French first division club US Dunkerque . The player who was active in the middle of the back area then moved to the Belgian club HC Eynatten . With Eynatten he won the Belgian championship in 2000 and 2001. In addition, he coached the men's team and the A-youth of the BTB Aachen from 2000 to summer 2001 . Under his leadership, the men's team won the championship in the regional league, won the A-Cup of the HK Aachen and made it into the 1st DHB-Cup main round for the first time . In the summer of 2001 he joined the second division MT Melsungen . After Wudtke rose to the Bundesliga with Melsungen in 2005, he moved to the regional league club Ibbenbürener Spvg . In Ibbenbüren, Wudtke acted as a player-coach and moved to SG Hamburg-Nord in January 2006 , where he also worked as a player-coach. Here he had to end his career due to a shoulder injury. He trained the SG Hamburg-Nord until February 2012.

In addition to his work as a club coach, Erik Wudtke was involved in promoting young talent at the handball association Mittelrhein and the Hamburg handball association . From August 2012 to July 2013 he was also employed by the Hamburg handball association as a regional coach. He then took over the coaching position at the third division club TuS Ferndorf . Under his leadership, TuS Ferndorf rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2014/15 season . Then Wudtke moved to TSV Bayer Dormagen , where he worked as a youth coordinator and as a coach of the C-youth. From December 2015 he also worked as an assistant coach for the German junior national team. In March 2016 he took over the position of sporting director at TSV Bayer Dormagen. In February 2017 Wudtke was promoted to national coach of the German junior national team. He then ended his activity at TSV Bayer Dormagen. He has been responsible for the German national youth team since January 2018. Under his leadership, the youth national team won the silver medal at the U-19 World Cup . Wudtke represented Alexander Haase at the 2020 European Championships , who was unable to exercise his position as assistant coach for the senior national team due to illness. He then retained this office.
