Erika Sainte (born July 14, 1981 ) is a Belgian actress .

Life

Erika Sainte's career as an actress began in 1999 at the Théâtre de Namur , where she was first seen on stage in Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt . By 2004 she completed an acting course at the Institut des arts de diffusion (Institute for Broadcasting Art) in Neu-Löwen . She made her television debut in 2011 with a supporting role in the series Interpol . It was only through her leading role in the film She does not cry, she sings (Elle ne pleure pas, elle chante) by the Belgian film director Philippe de Pierpont that she achieved greater fame, as she won the Magritte film award for best young actress in 2012 for her portrayal of Laura .

Since then she has been regularly engaged not only as a film, but also as a theater actress. She appears in the larger theaters of the Brussels-Capital Region such as the Théâtre des Martyrs and the Théâtre Le Public, in spring 2019 as Vanda in La Vénus à la fourrure by David Ives. Of her cinematic work, she worked as a director of the film Je suis resté dans les bois in 2017 . Since 2018 she has played the leading female role as Lieutenant Camille Delaunay in the television series The Purple Rivers , which was nominated as the best series at the Festival de la fiction TV de La Rochelle .
