Erksdorf is a district of Stadtallendorf in the central Hessian district of Marburg-Biedenkopf .
geography
The place is north of the main town in the West Hessian valley zone . State road 3290 runs through the village in north-south direction and district road 15 from Kirchhain to Momberg in east-west direction .
history
Erksdorf is an old settlement area. It is believed that the first settlement was between the 4th and 8th centuries AD. Erksdorf was first mentioned in a document in the middle of the 13th century.
The place name is derived from the first settler named Ercanger . The name changed from Ereksdorf via Erkerßdorff to today's Erksdorf.
The Protestant church in the center of the village was built in 1831.
On December 31, 1971, Erksdorf was incorporated into the town of Allendorf (now the town of Stadtallendorf), the Marburg district (now the Marburg-Biedenkopf district) (the city's official name at the time) .
