The Erlenbach is a 4.8 kilometer long orographically right tributary of the Bever in Radevormwald .

Location and topography

The stream rises at 386 meters above sea level. NN west of the Radevormwald village Böhlefeldshaus a few meters west of the watershed of the river systems between the Wupper and the Ennepe . It flows through the forest past a medieval smelting site protected as a cultural monument and passes under the federal road 229 at Grüne .

Flowing past an industrial area , the Erlenbach crosses under the high embankment of the disused Wuppertal Railway and passes a series of rain retention basins in the industrial area. Behind an old quarry he reaches the remote location of the same name Erlenbach , where he feeds three large ponds. At the confluence of the Kreuzbach , the Erlenbach passes under the K11 district road.

After receiving a flow from the Hönder Siepen and the Bruchfelder Siepen, the Erlenbach circles the Hönderbruch farm and flows east past the Lichteneichen farm. A few meters further on it flows out at 296 meters above sea level. NN in the Erlenbach pre-lock of the Bevertalsperre .

The most important tributaries are the Kreuzbach , the Hönder Siepen and the Bruchfelder Siepen.
