Erna Sander

Erna Sander (born June 30, 1914 in Hamburg ; † November 30, 1991 there ) was a German costume designer .

Life

The daughter of the swimmer Louise Otto emigrated to the seizure of power by the Nazis and trained for seamstress and costume designer at their places of Vienna, Prague and Paris. In Paris she married the producer Walter Koppel . She was arrested by the Gestapo while distributing leaflets in Paris and then taken to Fuhlsbüttel prison.

After the war ended, she worked as a costume designer for the Flora Theater in Hamburg and married the film producer Gyula Trebitsch in 1947 . During the 1950s she designed the costumes for numerous films from Trebitsch's real film . She was the mother of the television producers Katharina Trebitsch and Markus Trebitsch .
