Ernst Behr (administrative lawyer)

Ernst Behr (born November 3, 1854 in Waldkirch ; † May 6, 1923 in Karlsruhe ) was a German administrative officer and judge.

Life

Born as the son of an art mill owner , Ernst Behr attended the Progymnasium in Donaueschingen and the Gymnasium in Konstanz . In 1873 he graduated from high school. He then studied law at the Universities of Freiburg and Leipzig . In 1874 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Freiburg . In 1876 he joined the Corps Thuringia Leipzig . In 1878 he passed the first state examination in law, became a legal intern at the Breisach district court in 1879 and passed the second state examination in 1882. He then became a trainee at the Schopfheim District Office .

In 1884 Behr became a clerk at the Mannheim district office . In 1887 he moved to the Baden Ministry of the Interior in Karlsruhe as an unskilled worker . In 1888 he came to the Offenburg district office as a bailiff . In 1889 he was appointed bailiff and board member of the St. Blasien district office and in 1890 appointed senior bailiff. In the same year he moved to the district office of Meßkirch as an official director . From 1895 to 1899 he was the head of the district office in Villingen and then until 1903 of the district office of Offenburg .

From 1905 to 1908 Behr was deputy chairman of the Grand Ducal Chamber of Accounts. In 1908 he was appointed Chairman of the Council of the Karlsruhe Administrative Court and in 1920 to the Higher Administrative Court Councilor. He retired in 1923.
