Ernst Günter Herrmann (* 1941 in Erfurt ) is a German sculptor and landscape architect .

life and work

Herrmann studied architecture in Berlin and London from 1961 to 1968 . He completed his training in 1969 at the University of Stuttgart . From 1969 to 1974 he was a lecturer at the University of Berkeley in California . In 1974 he returned to Europe and worked as a freelance artist in Provence in France until 1978 .

Since 1979 he has been working as a sculptor and architect in Ostfildern near Stuttgart. He works primarily as a designer of public spaces, gardens, water features and sculptures and from 1995 as a freelance landscape architect. Since 2010 he has been working as an artist in Lacoste (southern France) in the field of minimalist spatial sculpture made of stainless steel. He was represented at numerous exhibitions, mainly in France.
