Ernst Hallinger

Ernst Hallinger (born November 6, 1905 in Berchtesgaden , Bavaria , † September 7, 1977 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian politician of German origin. Hallinger was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ).

Life

Ernst Hallinger was born in the Berchtesgadener Gnotschaft or the district of Salzberg , which at that time was still an independent community . After attending the elementary and trade school , Ernst Hallinger completed an apprenticeship as an art and building fitter in Salzburg from 1917. In 1926 he also passed the master's examination to become an electrician and then worked as a metal worker in various companies in the private sector until 1933. During the period after the annexation of Austria , Hallinger initially worked as a representative and finally as an unskilled worker.

In 1946 he took Austrian citizenship and joined the SPÖ.

In the same year he became party secretary and member of the state executive committee of his party for the state of Salzburg . In 1949 he was sent to the Salzburg state parliament as a member of the SPÖ , to which he belonged for almost 10 years, from December 1, 1949 to July 1, 1959. During his time as a member of the state parliament, he was also deputy SP club chairman (parliamentary group chairman). Only one day after leaving the state parliament, Hallinger moved to Vienna , where he was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council on July 2, 1959 . He remained a member of a legislative body for 10 years before leaving the Second Austrian Chamber of Parliament on May 14, 1969.

In addition to his work as a politician, Hallinger was also a founding member of Volkshilfe Salzburg in 1947 .
