Ernst Lotz

Ernst Albert Lotz (born January 27, 1887 in Vienna , † September 24, 1948 in Bingen ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduation Lotz began studying philology, which he 1909 with the graduation to the Dr. phil. and finished with the state examination in 1910. He then attended the teacher’s seminar, started teaching and after 1924 worked as senior studies director in Wahlstatt , Prüm and Wipperfürth . In 1933 he was dismissed from school.

Lotz then moved to Bingen am Rhein, where he was employed in the municipal social welfare office and in the area of ​​air protection. After the Second World War he took over the management of the Stefan-George-Gymnasium in Bingen as senior director of studies .

Party career

After 1945 Lotz joined the CDP , which later became the regional association of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate . Lotz was elected to the city council of Bingen in 1946. In 1946/47 he was a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and served as its President from November 22 to December 2, 1946. Lotz served from December 2, 1946 to June 13, 1947 as Minister for Education and Culture in the provisional government of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate led by Prime Minister Wilhelm Boden .
