Ernst Mandel

Ernst Mandel (born January 26, 1841 in Neuweistritz , district of Habelschwerdt , province of Silesia ; † January 19, 1901 in Niederhannsdorf , district of Glatz ) was a German theologian and from 1883 pastor of Niederhannsdorf. From 1889 to 1901 he was United dean and vicar of up to 1972 Archdiocese of Prague belonging Glatz and canon of Wroclaw .

Life

Ernst Mandel first attended the Royal High School in Glatz for three years and then the Matthias High School in Breslau . He then studied medicine as well as theology and philosophy at the University of Wroclaw . After completing his master's degree in theology and philosophy, he was sent to the University of Munich for further studies , where he was a student of the church historian Ignaz von Döllinger and was awarded a Dr. theol. received his doctorate. In Munich he was on 29 July 1867 the Augsburg Bishop Pankratius of spelled for priests ordained. He then returned to his homeland and worked for seventeen years as a chaplain in Wölfelsdorf , Schönfeld and assistant pastor in Rengersdorf . He then became a pastor in Niederhannsdorf, which had to do without a pastor for a long time because of the culture war .

After the death of the great dean Ernst Hoffmann , Ernst Mandel was appointed as his successor by Prague Archbishop Franz von Schönborn on October 25, 1889 . Later he received the honorary title of a papal house prelate and a canon in Wroclaw.
