The Erpetal nature reserve is located in the municipality of Hoppegarten in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg .

The approximately 183.6 hectare area with the identification number 1531 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of June 26, 2003 . The nature reserve extends east of Waldesruh , a part of the municipality of Hoppegarten, along the Erpe , a right tributary of the Spree . The B 1 runs along the northern edge of the area and the border with Berlin runs along the south-eastern edge .
