Ettelscheid is a western district of Schleiden in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen . Around 281 people live in Ettelscheid. There is a Catholic chapel in the village . A tributary of the Dieffenbach rises at Wiesenberg north of the village.

history

A Roman road ran from Cologne to Reims near Ettelscheid . The present village was founded in the High Middle Ages when large areas of forest were cleared. In the 14th century Ettelscheid belonged to the Jülich subordinate Dreiborn .

Until the reorganization of the communities and districts of the reorganization area Aachen, which came into effect on January 1, 1972, Ettelscheid belonged to the Dreiborn community, which was dissolved at the same time.
