Morsbach is a district of Schleiden in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen .

Dreiborn plateau

Morsbach is located in the Rureifel , northwest of Schleiden , not far from the border with Belgium on the Dreiborn plateau above the Urft valley in the Eifel National Park . The Morsbach of the same name rises on the western edge of the village , which runs in a northerly direction and flows into the Urfttalsperre . To the west lies the Dreiborn plateau and north of Morsbach, beyond the Morsbach, is the former Vogelsang Ordensburg .

history

In the 14th century Morsbach belonged to the Jülich subordinate Dreiborn .

Until the reorganization of the communities and districts of the reorganization area Aachen, which came into effect on January 1, 1972, Morsbach belonged to the Dreiborn community, which was dissolved at the same time.

The place can be reached by public transport via the L.63, (National Park Line), Simmerath - Einruhr - Vogelsang (- Schleiden) from the AVV area and via the SB82, (National Park Shuttle) Kall - Gemünd - Vogelsang and L.831 Schleiden - Gemünd - Dreiborn accessible from the RVS area .
