Berescheid is a district of Schleiden in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen . A little over 210 people live there.

Geographical location

Berescheid is located near the Eifel National Park in the Hohes Venn-Eifel Nature Park on the edge of the Dreiborn plateau , about 4.5 km west-northwest of the Schleiden core town between the Scheckenbach and Schafbachtal valleys. To the southeast of the village is the Kirchberg ( 520.1  m ) and to the west of the Eigart ( 565.5  m ).

Berescheid has a football field and a Catholic chapel . The Schafbachmühle campsite is south of the village.

history

In the 14th century Berescheid belonged to the Jülich subordinate Dreiborn .

Until the reorganization of the communities and districts of the Aachen reorganization area, which came into effect on January 1, 1972, Berescheid belonged to the Dreiborn community, which was dissolved at the same time.

In Berescheid there is regular service . The village is on side streets of Landesstrasse  207 and Bundesstrasse 258 . The next motorway junctions are Wißkirchen or Nettersheim on the A 1 , Aachen-Lichtenbusch on the A 44 and Rheinbach on the A 61 .
