Ettendorf is a village and cadastral community in the municipality of Lavamünd in Carinthia. The place has 303 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2018).
Ettendorf lies in the far east of Carinthia on the left side of the Lavant before it flows into the Drau .
The oldest written mention of Ettendorf comes from the year 1150. Until it was incorporated on January 1, 1973, Ettendorf was an independent political municipality.
At the beginning of the 1920s, Ettendorf had a Lion of St. Mark in the municipal seal , which was also included in the municipal coat of arms in 1969. On the one hand, this is due to the parish church of Ettendorf , consecrated to the evangelist Markus . It has also been suggested that it refers to workers from Venice in the glass blowing in St. Vincent, which was part of the municipality at that time. The Lion of St. Mark is the symbol of Venice.
