The European society "Diaphania" has been informally active since 2002/2003 and formally since 2004 as a non-profit recognized association based in Stuttgart in the cultural and social field. One focus of the activities is the promotion of the idea of integration and international understanding . Another focus of the work is the promotion of acceptance for people with disabilities .

Supporters and partners of the association are the Mönchsee-Gymnasium Heilbronn , the DGB Nordwürttemberg, the state center for political education Baden-Württemberg (LpB)

The European society "diaphania" is an independent organization. Evangelos Goros and the deputies Stefanie Schenk and Wim Buesink are in the chair. The honorary chairwoman of the association is Carmen Würt, the secretary and treasurer is Dorothee Utta.

The aim of the association is

  • to work for international understanding, especially between European countries.
  • in particular to promote European art and culture within the scope of the association.
  • stand up for peace, humanity and tolerance .
  • Support people with disabilities.
  • to get involved in the integration of people with different cultural backgrounds.

Projects and events

Since 2003, the association has carried out 49 smaller and larger events in Stuttgart , Brussels , Strasbourg , Berlin , Heilbronn , Schwäbisch Hall and Künzelsau , including the annual International New Year Festival in Heilbronn. As part of the literary forum, 23 events took place in the Stuttgart, Heilbronn and Schwäbisch Hall reading series. In support of artistic work, 10 exhibitions and project shows have been organized, including in the European Parliament in Strasbourg and in the Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

The Estia Agios Nikolaos in Galaxidi , Greece is supported and promoted with donation campaigns and information events.

The Heilbronn Integration Prize

The Heilbronn Integration Prize is awarded annually as part of the Heilbronn International New Year Festival.
