The passenger ship Fritze B. , ex. Europa was built in 1994/95 as a day excursion ship for the traditional company Rehbein-Line Kassel . The keel laying of the ship took place in autumn 1994.
Kassel Personenschifffahrt has been offering boat trips on the Fulda and Weser for more than 45 years . The company was founded in 1971 in Fuldatal . The company offered half-day trips to the Fulda reservoir and day trips to Hann. Münden , two-river trips into the Weser Uplands to Bad Karlshafen and special trips of all kinds. Due to a successor not being found, the company will cease operations at the end of 2019. The last passenger ship, the Europa , was sold to Brandenburg an der Havel . The new owner is the Nordstern shipping company in Brandenburg. The ship is used under the name Fritze B. on the waters in and around Brandenburg.
The ship
The ship, conceived as an extreme flat walker with a modern yacht look, was built at the Georg Placke shipyard in Aken in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . The shallow draft of only 0.60 meters enables the planned routes to be adhered to even at low water levels. It is approved for the transport of up to 300 people. Value was placed on an optimal window look. A galley , a counter area, a coffee counter and a showcase with a bar area, supervised by a service team, are available for passenger care to provide catering for the passengers .
