Eva Zeglovits

Eva Zeglovits (* 4. July 1976 in Linz as Eva Thalhammer ) is an Austrian political scientist and pollster .

Live and act

Zeglovits studied statistics from 1994 to 1999 at the University of Vienna with a stay abroad at the University of Padua . With the thesis Determinants and Development of Childlessness. An analysis for Austria based on the Family and Fertility Survey , she obtained the academic degree Magistra in Social and Economic Sciences from Wolfgang Lutz . From 2009 to 2011, he completed a doctorate (Dr. phil.) In political science at the University of Vienna with a dissertation on non-voters in Austria . Your doctoral supervisor was Karl Ucakar .

From 1998 to 2000 she worked at the European Center for Welfare Policy and Social Research in Vienna. From 1999 to 2010 she worked at SORA Institute for Social Research and Consulting , u. a. as Head of Elections and Politics. In 2010 she moved to the University of Vienna, where she worked until 2014 as a university assistant and as a project employee at the Austrian National Election Study (AUTNES). She has been a member of the executive board of the Institute for Empirical Social Research (IFES) since 2014 and has also been a co-owner of the institute since September 2019.

From 2000 extensive teaching activities in the fields of statistics, mathematics, research design and empirical methods at the University of Vienna, Vienna University of Economics , University of Applied Sciences of the BFI Vienna and the Danube University Krems .

Her main research interests are voter participation and decision-making, political socialization of adolescents with a focus on survey design, instrument development, linear and non-linear regression models , factor analyzes and structural equation models .

She regularly comments on politics and election events in the Austrian media. For the commemorative year 2018 of the “Anschluss” of Austria , she prepared the anti-Semitism study 2018 together with the market and opinion research institute Demox Research and on behalf of the President of the National Council , Wolfgang Sobotka .

Zeglovits is married and has two children.
