The Evangelical Reformed Cantonal Church of Schwyz is the Reformed Church in the Canton of Schwyz . The church was founded as a cantonal church due to a change in the Schwyz state constitution in 1998. Until the end of 2002, it was a member of the Evangelical Reformed Church Association of Central Switzerland . With its dissolution on January 1, 2003, the Schwyz Cantonal Church became a direct member of the Swiss Evangelical Church Federation .

Parishes

The Schwyz Church consists of six parishes:

Synod

The highest legislative body is the synod with 30 members elected by the parish assemblies. Each parish has at least one synod member, the other mandates are distributed according to the size of the parish.

Church council

The church council (executive) manages the business of the church, has six members and is chaired by Heinz Fischer . In addition to the six church council members who are entitled to vote, the dean is also a member of the church council, but without voting rights.
