Eveliina Piippo (born September 7, 1998 in Tampere ) is a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Piippo, who starts for the Vuokatti Ski Team, made an international appearance at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2015 in Steg . There she finished sixth over 7.5 km classic, fifth over 5 km freestyle and fourth place in the mixed relay. In March 2015 she became the Finnish junior champion over 5 km freestyle and in the mass start race over 15 km freestyle. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season she ran in Vuokatti for the first time in the Scandinavian Cup . She achieved the 81st place in the sprint and 64th place over 10 km classic. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , she achieved 62nd place in the sprint, 37th place over 10 km freestyle and ninth place with the relay. Her best results at the 2017 Junior World Championships in Soldier Hollow were seventh place in the relay and fifth place in the skiathlon . In March 2017 she became the Finnish junior champion in the 20 km mass start race in Ounasvaara . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season she started the World Cup in Ruka for the first time and finished 93rd in the sprint. At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Goms , she ran in sprint and over 5 km classic to 13th place and in skiathlon and with the relay to fourth place. At the beginning of March 2018, she got her first World Cup points in Lahti with the 28th place over 10 km classic.

In the 2018/19 season she achieved her first podium finishes in the World Cup in Beitostølen and Ulricehamn with third place in each relay. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , she won the silver medal in the 10 km freestyle. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , she finished 23rd in the skiathlon , 19th in the 30 km mass start race and sixth in the relay.
