Evelyn Catherine Laura Williamson (born August 30, 1971 in Hamilton ) is a former triathlete from New Zealand and Olympian (2000).

Career

She qualified for a place at the 1993 World Cup in Manchester and started as a professional in 1996.

In August 1998 she was third in the Triathlon World Championships on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In 2000, she won the first Zurich Triathlon in Switzerland .

2000 Summer Olympics

She started it on August 25th at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , where she finished 22nd as the only and fastest New Zealander.

Evelyn Williamson won the Alpine Triathlon at Schliersee in 2001 and 2002 .

In 2003 she had to take a break due to an injury. After missing a qualification for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she declared her professional career over.
