Yevgeny Mikhailovich Rylow ( Russian Евгений Михайлович Рылов ; born September 23, 1996 in Novotroitsk , Orenburg Oblast ) is a Russian swimming athlete . He specializes in the back swimming position . In 2017 and 2019 he became world champion over 200 meters.

successes

At the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , China , he won three gold medals: over 50 and 100 meters back and with the Russian 4 × 100 meter relay; there was also a silver medal for the 200 meter back.

Rylow achieved his greatest success up to then at the World Championships in Kazan in his own country in 2015 : over 200 m back he took the bronze medal in 1: 54.60 min behind the Pole Radosław Kawęcki (1: 54.55 min) and the Australian Mitch Larkin (1: 53.59 min). Over 100 m he was seventh in 53.23 s.

At the following two World Championships in 2017 in Budapest and 2019 in Gwangju , he won the title over 200 meters back, in Gwangju he also won the silver medal over the other two back courses.
