Vladimir Vladimirovich Selkov
Wladimir Wladimirowitsch Selkow ( Russian Владимир Владимирович Сельков ; born April 1, 1971 in Berezniki , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian swimmer.
He was able to win numerous titles at world and European championships over the back position. However, he was denied an Olympic victory in his career, as Martín López-Zubero was another successful backstroke swimmer next to him in the 1990s . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he won (behind López-Zubero) the silver medal in the 200 m back and with the 4 × 100 m relay, four years later in Atlanta the relay "only" reached silver again.
